How to Create your own photo gallery on the website
So, you're ready to show your photographs to the world. You can of course upload directly to the user gallery which is simply an open pool of photographs, and there is also a club gallery. You can also create your own photo album.
To begin, click on the Photo Gallery link on the left, or on the gallery link above - both links will take you to the same page. On the page that opens,. you'll see the title Gallery written in grey, just below that you'll see 'User Panel' Click on that. This is where you'll need to come when you want to upload photo's also (you can upload up to three photos at a time). To make your own gallery, click on the button named categories (thats what we call galleries), and select the option 'New Category' on the page that appears. Members should select 'User Gallery' as the parent Gallery, otherwise, name the gallery as you wish... a suggestion is using your name so other members can identify you more easily. Provide a description if you wish, E.G: personal photos by 'yournamehere'. Access is be default set to public...published should be set to yes, and ordering is by default set to first. All done? Just click save and your gallery will be created.
If you like, you can repeat this process to create galleries in that main folder, just select usergallery>>yourgallerynamehere as the parent. Doing this means you can have many galleries online here on the website, but located conveniently all in one spot for people to look at. To see what this looks like visually, go to the photo gallery and check out my folder (chris o driscoll) Uploading your photo(s) To begin, click on the Photo Gallery link on the left, or on the gallery link above - both links will take you to the same page. Click on user panel. In the centre of the page, you'll see a button 'New Picture'...click on it. Title.... is what you would like to name your photo (note that if you upload three, all three will be given the sanme title, but you can go back and edit that afterwards) Photos will be resized automatically for you as they are uploaded to the maximum size allowed by the galleries - if your image is larger than that default size; it will be made linkable, so members can click on it and view the larger size. |
